The start of your exchange is coming closer and soon you will be travelling to Augsburg! We hope you will have a lovely stay in your new city and university.

?

Shortly before you arrive and within the first weeks of your stay, there are still some important things you need to take care of. Below you can find a detailled overview of these steps. Please make sure to complete all of the steps in due time and ask us in case of any questions or doubts.

?

BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE: LAST THINGS TO DO before you leave

When?: As soon as you have received your rental contract from the Studierendenwerk

?

The Studierendenwerk will contact you via email and send you your rental contract as well as the contact details of the manager of your dormitory.

?

Please schedule your move-in date and time by contacting the dormitory manager via email as soon as you can. Bear in mind that the earliest move-in date that can be guaranteed is the third working day of the month (October for the winter semester, April for the summer semester). Please be aware of the holidays in Germany, especially the holiday on 3 October and the Easter holidays in April.

?

The dormitory managers do not usually work on weekends and in the evening. If it does not work out to schedule an appointment with the dormitory manager due to your arrival day or time, please contact your Buddy. They might be able to pick up the dormitory key for you before you arrive.

?

When?: As soon as you have your ?RZ-Kennung“

?

Once you are enrolled at the University of Augsburg, you will receive the so-called “Rechenzentrums-Kennung” or short ?RZ-Kennung“. With this access code you will be able to register for your courses via the course mangagement system ?Digicampus“: https://digicampus.uni-augsburg.de/

For German language courses you can only register in the week before the semester starts, so when you are already in Augsburg (see below under "6. German Language Course Registration").

When?: Send documents until two weeks before you leave for Augsburg

?

All students must register with the city of Augsburg. If you have a non-EU nationality, please send a copy of the documents listed below to the Foreigners Registration Office at service@aaa.uni-augsburg.de before your departure to Augsburg:
